The Masters tournament is coming to Ocean Lanes November 15 and 16. Entries are available on this site and at the local bowling ceneters. Spots are filling up fast so get your entries in early.
The Ocean County Singles Tournament has come to and end. Hope everyone enjoyed the new County Oil Pattern. The winners have been posted in the Singles tournament section.
The Ocean County Singles Tournament commences 18 and 19 October at Ocean Lanes. Squad times are 1and 3:30 PM. Ocean Lanes states that the lane conditions for this tournament and the Masters will be harder than normal. Come out with your best equipment and hit the lanes.
The Ocean County Senior Tournament commences the first weekend of October at Ocean Lanes. Squad times are 12 and 2 PM. Updates to the web pages have occured. Check for the results after 27 October 2008
Congratulations to the winners of the No Tap Bowling and Blue Claws Fundraiser held at Ocean Lanes. Adult winners are Gary Budra 878(scratch) and Stacy Mizerny 974 (handicap). Youth winners are Kyle Murphy 798 (scratch) and Ashley Chiaramonte 887 (handicap). We were joined by the Blue Claws mascot, Buster, on Sunday. Buster's antics created havoc for everyone who bowled. See the pictures on the website. We had a lot of fun. Thanks again to Ocean Lanes for hosting the event.

The Kick-off meeting for league secretaries will be on 10 August 2008 at 10 AM at the Toms River Elks.
Join the Ocean County USBC Bowling Association and the Lakewood Blue Claws on 28 August 2008 for the 1st Annual Bowling Theme night at First Energy Park. Game time is 7 PM. This fund raiser will provide support to the Bowlers for Veterans Link (BVL).
Groundbreaking finally starts to upgrade Thunderbird Lanes. Eight new lanes are being added. Expected time to be completed is before the first of the new year.
The general membership meeting was held on 4 May 2008. New officers and directors were elected for the upcoming 2008-2009 bowling year starting in August. Elected to the executive board were:
President elect John Velchek
1st Vice President elect Gary Languirand
2nd Vice President elect Ben Harrington
The election also brought in two new directors Bill Jones and Justene Languirand.
Ocean County Bowling Association sanction fee will increase in the upcoming season. The general membership authorized the sanction fee to be raised from $18.00 to $20.00.
Lyle Worsley breaks the Ocean County Triplicate Record at Ocean Lanes. On 16 March 2008 Lyle shot a fabulous 268 triplicate for a 802 series. This is his first 800. congratulations Lyle. The previous triplicate record of 258 was held by Joe Pompilio.
The annual general membership meeting will be held on 4 May 2008 at Playdrome 37 Lanes with the election of new officers for the upcoming year.
